Some random babbling................
1. Getting closer.............spent the day driving around Miami from the shaliach's office to the consulate, and I DIDN'T GET LOST! I've turned in my application for my Aliyah Visa, and now we wait. It should be returned to me in about 3 weeks they said. At least I'm giving myself enough extra time just in case....
2. How cool is it that the Israeli Consulate is on the 18th floor??? It just makes me smile.
3. Hubby told his boss today that he has to go to Israel in 2 weeks for 2 weeks because his cousin is getting married and sent him a plane ticket. It's really his pilot trip that he's been planning, but he hasn't told him that we're moving yet. When he gets back, he'll have about a week of work, then 3 weeks of extra curricular type training (that he teaches)........then less than a week to finish the house, and *poof!* we'll be outta here!
4. Totally off topic........do you buy stuff on Ebay ever??? We do, and as buyers it is sooooo darn frustrating watching other people bidding like maniacs before the end of an auction! Here's what we have figured out.........IF you bid on an item on day one, and someone else bids on it right after you, and you start somewhat of a bidding war, you are very foolish. All this does is INCREASE the final price by increasing the price bit by bit, leaving the time open for someone else to increase it more. THE SMARTER WAY TO PLAY: watch an item that you like, making a note of the ENDING TIME. In the minutes before the auction is to end, make sure you are signed in and ready to place a bid. When there are like 50 seconds left of the auction, put in your bid............don't just go up $1.00, put your highest bid as like $5.23 OVER the current bid. This will generate the computer to play it's own bid war with someone else if they have put in their highest bid.... adding the ODD amount of change at the end gambles on the likelyhood that the other person has bid only $5.00 over the current amount, and you would then win the bid. does this make sense people???? Please, please please, stop the insanity of bidding too early! (unless of course you are bidding on something that I"M SELLING!) hee hee
5. I'm teaching hebrew school tonight. After tonight, we only have FOUR MORE CLASSES!!! yaay!!! I'm hoping to get some good end of the year teacher gift cards. People, if you have kids, and those kids go to school, give your teachers gifts! And don't make it $10 to Macy's..........totally annoying. Cuz really, what can you buy at Macy's for $10? Give things like Target gift cards, and the teachers can add up all the $10 giftcards and really go to town!!!! I'm thinking about the new pots and pans we need to buy (target has a new line of Calphalon stuff that is reasonably priced).......keeping my fingers crossed!Oh, and cash works well too! :)
6. That's it, there really isn't a #6 in my ramble book today. Thanks for listening. Going to go sit on the couch for 10 minutes before picking up the boys. Hope you're all having a good day!
